The winner of this year’s FirstCar and Veygo ‘Win a Car’ prize draw has been announced.
The winner of a brand-new Renault Clio is 17-year-old Lucie Benn. Lucie, who passed her driving test first time in July, was randomly selected from more than 110,000 entrants.
The prize draw was promoted in over one million copies of FirstCar magazines during a 12-month period, with more than 2,000 instant winners along the way.
The magazines help new and young drivers get on the road to freedom, by providing advice on car buying, insurance and road safety tips.
Lucie’s parents travelled from their home in Cockermouth, Cumbria, to Cardiff — where headline sponsor Veygo is based — to attend the surprise handover.
The big reveal was made by FirstCar’s TikTok presenter, Keanan Lloyd-Adams, who gave Lucie the surprise of her life. He was joined by Hannah Thomas, senior marketing executive at Veygo UK, who officially handed over the keys, as captured in the above picture, with Lucie on the right.
Lucie admitted she was “totally blown away” and at first thought it was a joke. Once reality sank in, she described the experience as “unbelievable and the best day of my life”.
Currently studying for her A-levels, Lucie has recently completed work experience in a veterinary surgery, reflecting her passion for animals. She can now drive to college in style in her brand-new Clio.
FirstCar and Veygo have once again teamed up to give another lucky learner or new driver the chance to win a Renault Clio, plus 1,220 other instant prizes now up for grabs in the current annual prize draw.
