Hampshire launches drink/drug drive campaign

15.15 | 7 December 2009 |

Hampshire County Council has launched a countywide campaign highlighting how alcohol and drugs adversely affect driving ability.

32 taxis across the county are carrying the slogan “You drink, I’ll drive”, and pharmacy dispensary bags from 67 independent chemists, pose the question, "Could your medication impair your driving?"

Ernie Sage, road safety services manager, said: “We are making every effort to raise awareness and generate wider public discussion about the social unacceptability of drink or drug driving. If you’re going to have a drink or take drugs, including medicine that carries a warning about side effects, then don’t drive.”
