Young drivers encouraged to train their brains

RED Driving School has introduced the ‘Road Brain Trainer’, an e-learning tool designed to teach new drivers to spot, assess and respond to potential risks more quickly and efficiently.

The Road Brain Trainer was developed in partnership with a2om and researched and tested by Dr Lisa Dorn of Cranfield University, who says it increases a driver’s chances of passing their practical driving test by 14% and helps to create better, safer drivers in the long run.

RED Driving School encourages all its pupils to improve their driving skills through web-based training as well as traditional lessons.

Ian McIntosh, CEO at RED Driving School, said: “There are genuine scientific reasons why young people are less likely to anticipate danger and assess risk and we want to do what we can to help develop this ability as much as possible.”
