An 18-year-old carer from Lancashire has won a brand new car in a competition organised by TSO (The Stationery Office), official publisher for the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency).
Lauren Ratcliffe was announced winner of the TSO’s 2013 ‘Win a Car Competition’ just weeks before her practical driving test. She has taken delivery of a new Peugeot 107 Access from her local Peugeot dealership in Preston.
Lauren answered all the competition questions correctly and was chosen as winner on the strength of her answer to the tie breaker question, which was:
“Learning to drive will change my life, because…… as an 18 year old carer I will be able to travel easier to places with exciting opportunities for individuals with severe disabilities.”
Her slightly grubby entry form was enclosed with a note which read: “I apologise for an untidy application, the man I look after put food on there after wanting to help me fill it in.”
Lauren said: “I was overwhelmed after finding out I had won the competition. I never thought for a second I would win, and I’m so grateful TSO and DVSA gave me this opportunity. Thank you.”
