A co-ordinated approach to post-test training

10.00 | 12 June 2009 |

In a bid to promote post-test driving courses and increase uptake, Road Safety GB is working with the Association of British Insurers (ABI) to explore how the insurance industry can support these schemes.

A number of local authorities are running subsidised and regional courses and working with insurance companies to offer discounts at a local level. However, it is widely considered advantageous to have national and consistent backing from the insurance industry.

To progress this, it is necessary to find out how many schemes are being delivered currently within the UK, what these schemes involve, and the potential number of young drivers who complete courses annually.

This information will allow Road Safety GB to negotiate with the ABI to develop an incentive for young drivers to be involved in post-test training.

RSOs are asked to take a few minutes to download the attachment, complete the simple questionnaire and send the completed form by email to June Howlett. The closing date for responses is 6 July.

For further information contact June Howlett.
