A one-day conference taking place at the beginning of May will explore the role crash friendly, passively safe, design plays in the Safe Systems approach to road safety.

The 2024 Passive Safety Conference and Workshop, organised by Passive Safety UK, takes place at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham on 9 May.

The conference includes a hands-on workshop, as well as an exhibition of passive products – with experts from industry explaining how their products work.

The event will also present the new ARTSM Guidelines on Passive Safety, which will include information on the recent changes to the UK National Annexe to EN 12767.

The event is endorsed by The Institute of Highway Engineers and the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation – with a full day’s CPD credit available.

Andy Pledge, Passive Safety UK, said: “Whether you are very familiar with passive safety design but need a refresher/updating, or you would just like to learn the basics, this conference is for you.

“This is a chance for you to learn about the role crash friendly, passively safe design plays as part of a Safe System approach.”
