RSGB Academy has redeveloped and relaunched the Road Safety Evaluation training course, with booking now open for the new course’s first running later in the year.
The new course will be delivered by Ian Edwards, who has helped shape the content, and will run next on 4-5 October 2023 – with registration now open.
Evaluation is a critical element in any road safety intervention as it provides the means to assess:
- If the intervention is delivering the anticipated benefits
- How the intervention can be further developed
- If the intervention is delivering good value
- How the participants are reacting to the content of the intervention.
In a wider context, it helps road safety professionals learn and develop by reviewing what has worked before, and build upon this.
The course will cover the following:
- Evaluation designs
- Common measures used in evaluation, including questionnaires and semi-structured interviews
- Analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
- Reporting results
- Ethical considerations
To successfully complete the course participants will need to design a simple evaluation, which can be based on an intervention they are currently running, or one they are considering for the future.
