Birmingham to host ADI course

12.00 | 22 April 2015 |

Birmingham City Council’s road safety team will facilitate the ‘client centred learning’ (CCL) course for ADIs which has been developed by Road Safety GB in partnership with eDriving Solutions.

The two-day course has been specifically designed to help ADIs develop client-centred learning skills in line with the DVSA National Driver/Rider Training Standards.

Focusing on the three higher competencies – Lesson Planning, Risk Management and Teaching & Learning Strategies – the course helps ADIs develop an understanding of the Standards Check while also focusing on improving everyday teaching skills. The course has been developed by Road Safety GB in partnership with Ian Edwards MSc, director of e-Driving Solutions.

The course fee of £140 includes refreshments and a light lunch and one year membership of the Road Safety GB Academy. It is open to driving instructors from across the UK.

The Birmingham course is being held at Handsworth Community Fire Safety Centre in Handsworth on 11-12 May (08:45-17:00).

The course is also being held in Northallerton in North Yorkshire, Nottingham and Spennymoor in County Durham.

The Northallerton course (29-30 April) will be the fourth to be delivered by North Yorkshire’s road safety team.

The Nottingham course (11-12 May) will be delivered by Nottingham City Council’s road safety team, and facilitated by team member Neil Snow in partnership with special guest Louise Walsh from driving-instructor.tv and the Big Learner Relay.
