Campaign urges public to report drink drivers

Road Safety Grampian’s summer drink and drug drive campaign encourages members of the public to report drink drivers in confidence through Crimestoppers.

Michelle Herd, from Crimestoppers, said: "In the past year we have taken 1,200 anonymous calls from people giving information on drink drivers in Scotland. Of these, 18% were about drivers in the Grampian region.

“As all calls to the independent charity are completely anonymous anyone who makes the decision to drink and drive should be aware that it is not only the police watching out for them but the public at large."
