17.25 – That’s that for day one

That’s a wrap for day one of the 2016 National Road Safety Conference. A big thank you to all of our speakers, exhibitors and delegates for making it a insightful first day.

17.15 – Pick My Brains

New for 2016, the inaugural ‘Pick My Brains’ session is now taking place.

The session will see experienced road safety practitioners will provide advice and help on a small group basis.


17.00 – Three receive Lynda Chalker Award

Rob Tillier, Linda Kennedy and Tina Housego are recognised for their contributions to road safety with the prestigious Lynda Chalker Award.

More information on all three winners will be available on the Road Safety GB newsfeed in the coming days.


16.55 – Road Safety GB Academy presented with Prince Michael Award

Alan Kennedy and Ian Edwards are up on stage to receive a Prince Michael Road Safety Award on behalf of the Road Safety GB Academy.

16.45 – Speakers are back on stage

13.10 – Sonya Hurt, the new chair of Road Safety GB, addresses delegates

Sonya Hurt, the new chair of Road Safety GB, officially opens the 2016 National Road Safety Conference. 

Sonya outlines her goals for RSGB over the next few years:

  • To continue to grow and be recognised as a leading road safety organisation
  • To continue to forge links with the media
  • Provide education
  • Support road safety professionals

12.55 – Are we ready?

The main conference hall is starting to fill up, with Sonya Hurt, the new chair of Road Safety GB, set to take to the stage at 1pm.
