More than 1,650 people from the driving instructor industry attended the ADINJC & Intelligent Instructor National Conference & Expo at Cranmore Park, Solihull on 27 September.

The annual event, held in association with Dash Claims and Dash Instructor Cover, featured more than 70 organisations across two exhibition halls, showcasing products and services aimed at driving instructors and driving schools.

Exhibitors included training providers, insurance companies, franchise operators and suppliers of apps and in-car technology.

The 2026 event also introduced a park and ride service and outdoor catering to support visitors attending the exhibition.

A programme of 34 seminars was delivered across four areas – the Live Stage, Training Zone, Innovation Zone and Lou Walsh PDI Zone.

DVSA’s Amanda Lane opened the Live Stage with an update on the Ready to Pass? campaign, while Marian Kitson delivered a DVSA industry update at the end of the day.

Other sessions covered a range of topics including driving school growth, artificial intelligence, supporting learners with ADHD, instructor wellbeing, test nerves, LGBTQ+ inclusion, Making Tax Digital and the DVSA’s updated code of practice.

Road safety coaching was also discussed, with Olly Tayler sharing his vision for the future of the sector.

The event included a number of practical activities. The Outdoor Activity Area gave delegates the opportunity to test drive electric vehicles, including a Porsche Taycan, while also showcasing adapted vehicles and a Virtual Reality Van.

An indoor Health & Wellbeing Area and a driving simulator provided by Gold Sponsor Pass N Go Driving School were also available to visitors.

Organisers said exhibitors reported strong engagement and enquiries, while attendees left with new contacts and ideas for developing their businesses.

Richard Storrs, managing director of Intelligent Instructor, said: “It’s fantastic to see so many instructors give up their Sunday to learn, share ideas and celebrate their profession.

“Nothing else in our sector comes close to the scale of this event, and it was the best one yet!”
