The European Commission has a €2m fund to help finance proposals from road safety professionals across the EU.
The EU is inviting requests for funding covering projects and initiatives including:
• Development and implementation of innovative communication campaigns;
• The sharing of best practice to ensure greater awareness and better understanding between various road users (motorcyclists, pedestrians, HGV drivers etc);
• Projects relating to the impact of an ageing population on road safety;
• Projects on the impact that gender has on driving behavior;
• Projects on the economic and social impact of road safety, including in public health policy;
• And projects relating to the impact of vehicle and passenger safety technology.
The deadline for submissions is 15 September and projects will be granted a co-financing rate of between 10% and 50% of eligible total costs.
