Ex-police traffic boss joins TTC Group

Educating motorists is the best way to prevent road deaths and injuries, says a former senior roads policing officer who has joined TTC Group.

Andy Pullan, recently retired superintendent in charge of roads policing in Avon and Somerset, has joined TTC Group as regional manager for the southwest.

Andy Pullen, whose 30-year police career included a spell in charge of speed enforcement, said: “Educating drivers is something that I passionately believe in and it will be really interesting to see the situation from the other side.

“Drivers get tested at 17 and never re-tested throughout their driving career until they are in their 70s or 80s. Education does change how people drive. I have sat in on a number of driver awareness courses run by the TTC Group and when people leave the course it is obvious they have taken on board new information.

“If they take on just one piece of road safety information then that will make them a little bit safer on our roads.”
