Brake has unveiled the shortlist for the Fleet Safety Awards 2014 which will be presented in Birmingham on 5 June.
Brake says it received the highest-ever number of entries for the awards and the short list comprises more than 40 companies across 14 categories.
The finalists include Colas, who sponsor the National Road Safety Conference and the Road Safety Knowledge Centre, Gateshead Council and Cheshire Fire & Rescue Services.
The annual event, sponsored by Arval, is designed to “recognise the achievements of fleet operators and suppliers who are working hard to reduce road crashes involving at-work drivers”.
Ellie Pearson, senior professional engagement officer at Brake, says: "It is fantastic that so many companies are making a real effort to end the needless crashes on our roads as a result of at-work drivers.
“We have been really impressed with this year’s entries and our judges are going to have a tough time choosing the winners. We wish all our finalists the best of luck and look forward to seeing them all at our conference and awards."
