Premiership footballer Emmanuel Pogatetz, captain of Middlesborough, was guest of honour as pupils battled it out at the final of Stockton Borough Council’s annual road safety quiz.

The final was the culmination of months of hard work, with the three finalists having already beaten 20 other schools. More than 1000 pupils had already been quizzed on questions dealing with safety as a pedestrian, cyclist and passenger.

The quiz was won by Ingleby Mill Primary, with Bader Primary second and St Patrick’s Primary third.
