The Road Safety Trust is hosting a free webinar next week to support road safety professionals thinking of applying for its next round of grant funding, which opens next month.
The theme for the 2022 main grant is ‘Fitness to Drive’, which the Trust says is key to the Safe System approach.
Funding will be available for research and development of ‘innovative and practical’ interventions in the following four areas: diabetes, dementia, sleep and fatigue, and illegal and prescription drug use.
Projects, including those that are research-based, should have a practical focus and develop evidence-led tools and interventions.
These could include (but are not limited to) self-assessment tools and support for drivers or riders, assessment and screening tools, or better guidance, training, education and support for health and other professionals.
The Trust’s webinar will be held at 14.00 on Tuesday 6 September, and will include a presentation from the grants team and a Q&A session.
The webinar is free to attend, but requires attendees to sign up in advance.
The Trust is also offering one-to-one appointments on 7 and 14 September, which can be booked via its website.
