Practitioners across the country are being called on to ‘Make time for safety’ during Child Safety Week (21-27 June), and protect children from serious accidents.
The Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) is offering a free toolkit to all practitioners working with children, young people and families, to help them get involved and protect children from serious accidents.
The toolkit contains a colourful, easy-to-use ideas booklet with information to help run Child Safety Week activities. It also contains a poster promoting the Week and the new on-line ‘Time Pledge’.
The Time Pledge enables anyone who cares about children to pledge their time to protect them from serious accidents.
Katrina Phillips, CAPT chief executive, said: “The toolkit helps practitioners get messages across to children and families in ways that are engaging, fun and most of all easy.
“Last year, local activities reached six million children, parents and carers. And Child Safety Week supported almost one in 10 parents and carers to make children safer from serious accidents. By getting involved, practitioners can make a real difference to children’s lives.”
