Ingenie CEO will present telematics’ case study at young driver conference

Richard King, founder and CEO of ingenie, is the latest confirmed speaker for a young driver conference to be held in May 2014.

The event, “Young driver focus”, is a collaborative partnership between Road Safety GB and FirstCar, supported by Arval who are providing the venue, technology and refreshments. It is free for Road Safety GB Academy members and more than 125 people have already registered to attend. The capacity is around 150 delegates.

Richard King will present a case study looking at telematics insurance during which he will give a brief insight as to how ingenie uses driver feedback and financial incentives to improve driving behavior.

Richard is the founder and CEO of ingenie, a company that – in just over two years – has “disrupted the insurance market” and established itself as one of the leading insurance brands for young drivers.

He has a track record of success, having previously co-founded the FTSE-listed Innovation Group Plc, which went from a startup to being valued at more than £1bn in four years.

Since starting ingenie, Richard has become passionate about road safety and is a regular TV and social media contributor on the issue. He is currently leading ingenie into the North American market, where the brand will seek to replicate its home success.

Young Driver Focus will look at “cutting young driver casualties now and in the future”. As this suggests the event will be forward-focused rather than a retrospective look at young driver collisions and casualties.

It will be held at The Arval Centre in Swindon (just off the M4) on Wednesday 14 May 2014, 10.00am – 3.30pm.

The event is FOC for Academy members and the delegate fee for other public sector attendees is just £35 plus VAT. The fee for delegates from the private sector is £100 plus VAT.
