National Conference numbers increase by 10% to top 300

The number of attendees at next week’s National Road Safety Conference will for the first time top 300, an increase of 10% on the record number that attended last year.

Taking place at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham on 18-19 November, the 2015 National Conference is being hosted by Road Safety GB East Midlands Region and co-sponsored by AA DriveTech, Colas, Pepsico and Vysionics.

There will be a total of 33 presentations spread across the main conference agenda and fringe programme, with delegates free to move between the two. The presentations cover a comprehensive range of road safety-related topics and the speaker line up includes representatives from the DfT, Road Safety GB, National Police Chiefs’ Council, CFOA and Highways England.

The Question Time session is usually one of the highlights of the event and this year the panel will field questions relating to, among other topics, speed cameras, the disharmony between road user groups, graduated driver licencing and cycle training.

There will also be 24 organisations* (including the sponsors) represented at the exhibition which will run alongside the conference.

We will be reporting live from the conference hall throughout the two-day event, and readers can follow the build-up to the event on the Road Safety GB and Stennik Twitter feeds, by using the hashtag #RSGB2015 and by liking the Road Safety National Conference page on Facebook.

There remains a handful of residential places available and plenty of day delegate places on both days. Click here to book to attend or contact Sally Bartrum for more details.
