THINK! Education has produced new transition materials aimed at Year 6 and 7 students, their teachers and parents.
Changing from primary to secondary school is a time when children are more vulnerable as road users as they start to make journeys on their own and are not familiar with the roads, or the risks involved.
The lessons cover attitudes and behaviour to road safety and journey planning, with worksheets for children and advice for parents.
Currently the materials are available on the THINK! website but they will be incorporated into the THINK! Secondary Education site when it is launched in September.
RSOs are encouraged to advise their local schools about the availablity of these materials if possible.
