The agenda for the 2023 National Road Safety Conference is beginning to develop, with 25 confirmed presentations across the Main and Fringe programmes.
The 2023 National Conference is being held at the De Vere Cotswold Water Park Hotel, near Cirencester in Gloucestershire on 15-16 November. It is being hosted by Road Safety GB South West regional group and sponsored once again by Jenoptik and Westcotec.
The event launched in February and so far, almost 150 delegates have booked to attend – alongside 12 exhibitors – making total attendance comfortably in excess of 200 people.
The agenda for the event is under development, following a record number of expressions of interest.
To date, 25 presentations have been confirmed – 19 on the main conference agenda and six for the fringe.
Three of these fall within the Vision Zero/Safe System session, which will feature practical presentations delivered by authorities who have embraced the Safe Systems approach/Vision Zero goals.
The three confirmed presentations to date are:
- Adopting Vision Zero as a Local Authority
Nikola Floodgate, road safety & active travel group manager, Kent County Council - Tools for Vision Zero and the realities of delivering a Safe System
Delivered by Dr Suzy Charman, executive director, Road Safety Foundation - Maximising the road safety potential of Intelligent Speed Assistance
Delivered by professor Richard Rowe, University of Sheffield
The 2023 agenda will also retain successful and established elements of the programme including opening keynote presentations, Question Time and the quickfire ‘Speed Dating’ session, which will comprise around 12 quickfire presentations lasting no more than five minutes.
There will also once again be a Fringe programme and ‘Topical Topics’ session to accommodate presentations that don’t fit into the Safe System theme.
