UK organisations are being encouraged to enter the 2014 PRAISE Awards which recognise organisations that have made an outstanding commitment to improving work-related road safety.

The European Transport Safety Council’s (ETSC) PRAISE project addresses the safety aspects of driving at work and driving to work. The project’s aim is to promote best practice in order to help employers secure high road safety standards for their employees.

The annual awards are presented in three categories according to the size and type of organisation: SME (small-medium enterprise); large company; and public authority. The winners are chosen by a independent panel of experts appointed by ETSC.

Past winners include Royal Dutch Shell, VolkerRail, Electricity Supply Board, KTL and British Telecom.

The PRAISE Awards’ entry form can be downloaded from the ETSC website. The closing date for entries is 1 September and the awards will be presented at the annual PRAISE conference in Brussels in October 2014.
