RSO visits King Street Junior

12.00 | 27 July 2012 |

By way of light relief, we thought readers might like to know about an amusing programme currently available on BBC Radio 4 Extra.

King Street Junior is a radio comedy  about a junior school broadcast on BBC Radio 4 between March 1985 and November 1998. A continuation of the series renamed King Street Junior Revisited started in 2002 and continued until 2005.

The series is written by Jim Eldridge and the cast has included Peter Davison, James Grout and Karl Howman .

In the latest episode, an accident at the school gates leads to some soul-searching for the staff and an invitation to the local road safety officer to visit the school to talk to pupils at assembly.

The episode is available for the next five days on this link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/player/b007jml9

Thanks to Peter Wilson, Westminster City Council, for bringing this to our attention.
