‘Shocking’ adverts target young drivers

16.03 | 23 March 2009 |

Hard-hitting adverts about the consequences of irresponsible driving have been shown to young drivers at nightclubs and cinemas across Kent and Medway.

Katherine Barrett, communications officer for the Kent & Medway Safety Camera Partnership, said: “The adverts show the massive consequences that can result from speeding and other inappropriate behaviour, and the effects they have on the driver, passengers, families and friends.”

The adverts were shown as part of the partnership’s ‘Grow up. Slow down.’ campaign and can be seen on the campaign website www.kmscp.org/gusd. The films have also been uploaded onto YouTube but the site withdrew one of them for being too violent.
