Organisers of Young Driver Focus have published a report of the 2025 event, sharing best practice and outlining international perspectives of young driver safety.
Jointly organised by FirstCar, Road Safety GB and the RAC Foundation, Young Driver Focus (YDF) brings together road safety professionals from across the UK, in order to share the latest data, research, insights, strategies and ideas around just one topic – young driver road safety.
The 2025 event took place at the RAC Club, Pall Mall, on 21 May.
A packed agenda included presentations from key stakeholders, including the DfT’s THINK! campaign, the DVSA, the RAC Foundation, The Road Safety Trust and IAM RoadSmart.
Meanwhile, an international perspective on graduated driver licensing (GDL) was provided by a speaker from New Zealand.
The report provides summaries of all the presentations delivered on the day, along with briefing notes and a link to the full presentation.
Young Driver Focus was delivered in partnership with GEM Motoring Assist, with support from Westcotec.
Gill Starkie, trustee of GEM Motoring Assist, said: “Young Driver Focus is now in its 10th year, and in my opinion the innovation and collaboration are every bit as strong and worthwhile.
“Not only did we (the attendees) have the chance to consider the research, but we also heard some real-life applications of great ideas, demonstrating the great value the event continues to bring.”
