Students get in the driving seat

12.20 | 20 November 2009 |

Students at Collyers Sixth Form College in Horsham have been learning about the dangers of driving – without leaving the classroom.

Gill Starkie and Martin Cooke, West Sussex RSOs, took a seat belt sled to the college and more than 90 students sat on the seat and were released at approximately 4mph. Most were shocked by the impact when they hit the bottom.

The students were also given the opportunity to wear beer goggles, which illustrate the effects of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
