600 junior road safety officers (JRSOs) from primary schools across London attended a three-day event at London’s Transport Museum as a reward for their hard work over the past year.
The ‘Street Safe Live’ day (24-26 June) comprised interactive activities, workshops and the Street Safe Quiz.
This is the fourth year that TfL has organised ‘Street Safe Live’ to celebrate the success of the JRSO scheme which recruits Year Five and Six pupils to take the lead in promoting road safety issues.
Janet Kirrage, road safety education manager at TfL, said: “Children aged 11-14 years are still the most likely age group to be involved in an accident and we are working relentlessly to change this.
“It is very important that we educate youngsters about road safety and I thank these JRSOs for taking up such an important role in their schools."
