Des Morrison, formerly operations director, has been appointed managing director of the TTC Group.

A former Premiership assistant referee, Des Morrison (53yrs) has also worked as a probation manager and head of the youth offending service in Derbyshire.

He takes over as managing director from founding partner Jenny Wynn, who now joins her husband Graham as co-chairman of the organisation they founded in 1993.

The TTC Group is responsible for running speed awareness courses and other diversionary education schemes for 11 police forces. It also educates professional drivers and the corporate sector, provides support for local authority road safety teams and delivers cycle instruction and pedestrian safety for schools, councils and road safety organisations.

Speaking about his new role and Graham and Jenny Wynn, Des Morrison said: "I’m looking forward to continuing their vision of creating safer roads by educating all road users but also to diversifying and broadening the business across additional learning and development sectors such as criminal justice.

“We educate 300,000 people each year and the numbers are growing across all aspects of road safety for motorists, professional drivers, adult and child cyclists and pedestrians.

“We are keen to further our reach with interventions that successfully address more generic offender behaviours."

Jenny Wynn said: "Over the past four years Des has demonstrated his hard work, commitment, organisation and passion to ensure the business has grown in a planned and secure way, consistently delivering on objectives both internally and externally with our partners.

"Staff, stakeholders and partners alike hold Des in very high regard and we have the utmost confidence in his ability to continue to drive the business forward and deliver on our mission and vision statements."
