Two global tyre brands have joined forces with TyreSafe to help promote the importance of regular tyre maintenance and support road safety education for motorists.
TyreSafe says the partnership with Dunlop and Falken will help increase the reach of campaigns encouraging drivers to check tyre pressures, monitor tread depth and identify damaged or defective tyres before they become a safety risk.
The collaboration will also support future research and the sharing of data to improve understanding of tyre safety issues and help inform future road safety campaigns.
Stuart Lovatt, TyreSafe chair, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome both Dunlop and Falken to TyreSafe.
“Their decision to join TyreSafe demonstrates a clear commitment to road safety. The more leading manufacturers we can bring together around a shared vision for safer roads, the greater our ability to influence behaviour, share expertise and deliver life-saving safety messages.”
TyreSafe will now work with Dunlop and Falken on research, education and awareness initiatives aimed at encouraging safer vehicle maintenance and reducing preventable incidents on the UK’s roads.
Markus Bögner, president and managing director of Dunlop Tyre Europe and Falken Tyres Europe, said the companies were proud to join TyreSafe and support its work to raise awareness of the importance of tyre maintenance.
He said: “Safety, innovation and performance are at the heart of everything we do. Helping road users understand the importance of tyre maintenance and vehicle safety is equally important.
“We believe that by working collaboratively and sharing expertise, we can help raise awareness of the vital role tyres play in keeping people safe on the roads.”
