An upcoming webinar, organised by Project EDWARD and taking place on Wednesday 2 July, 1100-1200, will provide an opportunity to hear about achievements in road safety, behaviour change and culture shift brought about by Operation Tramline since it was launched 10 years ago.
Over the past decade, unmarked HGV cabs have patrolled the strategic road network, recording more than 50,000 dangerous driving offences across 35 police force areas. This unique collaboration between National Highways and policing has exposed risky behaviours such as using mobile phones and eating meals while driving, and failing to wear seatbelts.
The webinar, which is free to attend, offers the opportunity to hear from a panel of experts including transport consultant and former HGV driver Sami Bowler, Amanda Duffy from Duffy Logistics, Richard Frost of National Highways, and Sgt Dan Pascoe from Surrey Police, in a discussion hosted by James Luckhurst at the Road Transport Exhibition.
Simon Turner will moderate the webinar chat, ensuring questions and comments reach the panellists.
Topics will include the inspiration behind Operation Tramline, the practicalities of the National Highways-police partnership, the operation’s impact on road safety and whether it has led to a culture shift among commercial vehicle operators.
