Businesses across Merseyside are being invited to join a free webinar, taking place next week, which will look at managing road risk during the journey out of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Organised by Wirral Council’s road safety team as part of its Mind Your Business project, the webinar gets underway at 10.30am on 28 April. It lasts approximately 60 minutes.

The webinar will look at the changes in road use seen over the last 12 months and discuss how businesses are likely to be managing their journeys differently as things move forward.

Among the topics to be covered are:

  • More vans on the road due to an increase in home delivery shopping
  • Less commuters with more staff working from home
  • The increase in walking and cycling and how can we share the roads safely
  • What role do businesses have in reducing collisions?

Speakers include David Davies, executive director of PACTS, who will outline the findings of a report which highlights the overall risks involved with different modes of transport, including the risks posed to others.

Also on the agenda is Duncan Dollimore, policy director of Cycling UK, and Bruce Walton, CTO of Agilysis. The former will explain how to look after cyclists, while the latter will look at changing traffic and the gig-economy.

The webinar, hosted by Agilysis and funded by the Road Safety Trust, is available to all businesses across Merseyside – particularly to those who use the Wirral road network.

to register.

Mind Your Business was launched by Wirral’s road safety team in 2015 to educate local businesses and employees about the importance of staying safe on the roads.
