Riders urged to demonstrate why motorcycling ‘must be central’ to transport mix

This Ride to Work Day (10 June), the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) is urging riders across the UK to take to the roads and showcase the transformative power of two wheels.

Ride To Work Day is an annual event which aims to encourage more people to commute on two wheels by highlighting the associated benefits.

The Motorcycle Action Group (MAG), which promotes the campaign in the UK, says the theme of ‘Integrate’ underscores the vital role of mopeds, scooters and motorcycles in a sustainable transport future.

With Britain’s roads ‘gridlocked’ and emissions targets ‘pressing’, motorcycles offer a proven solution: slashing congestion, cutting emissions, and providing affordable, efficient travel for urban and rural communities, MAG adds.

As part of the day, ‘Look Out For Bikes’ messages will light up matrix signs on motorways and strategic roads nationwide, reminding drivers to share the road and consider the smarter, stress-free choice of motorcycling.

Colin Brown, MAG’s director of campaigns and political engagement, said: “Ride To Work Day is more than an event – it’s a statement.

“Motorcycles are a solution, not a sideline. On 10 June, we’ll show the nation how two wheels tackle congestion, empower communities, and deliver choice.”
