Road Safety GB and Project EDWARD have announced further details of a special joint webinar being organised to react to the anticipated publication of the Road Safety Strategy.
The webinar is now scheduled to take place on Wednesday 17 December from 8-9:30am. This date is provisionally held pending the publication of the strategy. Should the strategy not be published by this date the webinar will be adjusted accordingly.
The session will provide an immediate opportunity for road safety professionals nationwide to understand the new policy’s key proposals and potential implications.
This webinar, which will include a key contribution from Road Safety GB chair Nicola Foster, will serve as a timely platform to digest and discuss how the strategy could reshape the road safety landscape in the short, medium, and long term.
While the details are yet to emerge, expectations suggest the strategy may include renewed commitments to Vision Zero principles, enhanced investment in active travel infrastructure, expanded use of intelligent speed assistance technology and stronger collaboration between national and local authorities to tackle high-risk routes and behaviours.
James Gibson, executive director of Road Safety GB, said: “The publication of this strategy is likely to mark a pivotal moment for the road safety sector. We want to ensure that everyone involved in saving lives on our roads is equipped with the very latest information as soon as it’s available.”
James Luckhurst, founder of Project EDWARD, added: “We are determined to provide a fast, clear and professional response that supports those working across all sectors of road safety.”
