Young Driver Focus 2026 recently brought together leading professionals, policymakers, educators, insurers, researchers and road safety advocates for a day of insight, discussion and collaboration at the prestigious Royal Automobile Club in London.
Delivered in partnership with Road Safety GB and the RAC Foundation, and in association with headline sponsor GEM Motoring Assist, this year’s event attracted 175 attendees from across the young driver and wider road safety sectors, all united by a shared ambition to improve outcomes for young and novice drivers.
The day was packed with thought-provoking presentations, practical insight and honest debate around some of the biggest challenges facing young drivers today.
A broad range of topics were explored throughout the day, including a DVSA update, graduated driver licensing, social media expert insight, driver education, behavioural psychology, and the evolving role of parents, educators and industry in helping create safer young drivers.
Collaboration remains absolutely central to tackling these challenges effectively, and that spirit of partnership was evident throughout the event.
The day concluded with a particularly engaging young driver panel, offering honest and refreshing first-hand perspectives on road safety, learning to drive, social pressures and what genuinely influences behaviour behind the wheel.
Organisers say one of the real strengths of Young Driver Focus continues to be the diversity and quality of speakers, bringing together perspectives from both frontline practitioners and strategic leaders to create a genuinely balanced and informed conversation.
They add that networking remains a defining part of the Young Driver Focus experience, and this year was no exception. From the pre-event drinks reception held the evening before, kindly sponsored by Westcotec, through to the networking breaks during the conference itself, the event created valuable opportunities for conversations, collaboration and relationship building.
Feedback from delegates was once again extremely positive, with attendees praising the calibre of speakers, the exceptional venue and the quality of discussions throughout the day.
Beyond the content itself, organisers say that Young Driver Focus continues to serve an important wider purpose — bringing together what can often be a fragmented sector around a common cause, while creating the space for new ideas, partnerships and practical action to emerge.
Next year’s Young Driver Focus will take place on 19 May 2027. Early bird tickets are available now.
