NPCC Roads Policing Operation
Organised by National Police Chiefs Council
July is the peak month in terms of collisions for all of the fatal 4, HGVs, motorcyclists and cyclists. This month-long road policing operation will try to make an impact on the number of collisions and KSIs seen during the month of July. Forces will be conducting joint partnership and cross border operations targeting all areas of roads policing.

This event is the international summer school of the European HUMANIST Virtual Centre of Excellence. The theme is ‘Equality, Accessibility & Inclusivity of the Future Transport System’. The Summer School is intended for engineers, industrials, researchers, consultants, public bodies, and PhD students in the following fields: transportation and traffic, information and communication system design, automotive/truck and bus/powered‐two‐wheeler industry, human factors and ergonomics, psychology, and sociology.

Graduated driver licensing: an Australian perspective

During the webinar, Bernard Carlon, executive director of the New South Wales Centre for Road Safety, will show how the introduction of GLS in the state has been instrumental in reducing young driver fatalities in the state by 57%. Also contributing to the webinar will be Dr Shaun Helman, chief scientist behavioural science at TRL, Dr Sarah Jones from Public Health Wales and Jonathon Passmore from the World Health Organization.

Child Seat Safety Awareness Course

This course aims to ensure a standardised level of knowledge in relation to all aspects of child safety in vehicles. It is ideal for those with the responsibility of fitting or giving advice around child restraints, particularly within the retail, public and voluntary sectors. It covers the overarching laws and regulations surrounding child car seats, considers features within vehicles which can impact the safe use of a child seat and explores the importance of using the correct seat at each developmental stage of a child’s growth and much more. Using a range of learning styles, delegates will also get the opportunity for a hands-on practical session in order to further explore the wide range of car seats and their different features.

Introduction to the needs of Older Road Users for Road Safety Practitioners
