19 public and private sector organisations feature in the shortlist for the 2016 FirstCar Young Driver Road Safety Awards which has been unveiled today (26 Feb).

The FirstCar Young Driver Road Safety Awards are sponsored by Road Safety Support (RSS) and will be presented at the Young Driver Focus event in London on 20 April 2016.

Now in its second year, the awards’ scheme recognises the efforts of road safety professionals to reduce casualties among young drivers.

Announcing the shortlist, James Evans, founder of FirstCar, said: “Thanks to everyone who took the time to submit an entry, and congratulations to those who have made it onto the shortlist.

“We had more entries this year and the standard was incredibly high which made the task of judging and shortlisting very challenging for our independent experts.

“I’d like to thank the 2016 awards judging panel – Tracey Fuller (Arval), Ian Edwards (eDriving Solutions), Alan Kennedy (Road Safety GB), Sarah Scott (DVSA) and Emma Kelly (Road Safety Support) – for giving their time and carrying out their duties so diligently.

“We all look forward to the awards’ presentation ceremony during the Young Driver Focus event at the RAC Club on 20 April, and to finding out who has won the six awards.”
