Awards recognise ‘very best’ of the driver training industry

It shouldn’t be underestimated how important driving instructors are when it comes to turning new drivers into safer road users.

That was the verdict of Richard Storrs, founder of Intelligent Instructor, as he announced the results of the independent trade magazine’s annual awards.

The Intelligent Instructor Awards 2023 celebrated the ‘very best’ of the driver training industry, spanning instructors, driving schools, cars and suppliers.

This year’s awards received more than 7,300 votes. These scores were combined with marks from an independent judging panel, to determine the winners. 

The main award, Driving Instructor of the Year, was presented to Steph Coulson. 

There was also recognition for Peter Harvey MBE, who picked up the Services to the Driver Training Industry Award.

• National Driving Instructor of the Year – Steph Coulson 
• Services to the Driver Training Industry Award – Peter Harvey MBE
