BHS launches horse accidents website

In a bid to quantify the high number of unrecorded horse accidents on the roads, The British Horse Society (BHS) has launched a new website where horse related incidents can be logged, and advice offered.

Until now it has been difficult for the BHS to obtain accurate data for horse-related incidents. The BHS hopes that in addition to equestrians, local authorities and the police will also record incidents on the new website.

Sheila Hardy, senior executive at the BHS’s safety department, said: “We launched the website at Your Horse Live almost two weeks ago and have been really delighted with the response, including many more ‘incident’ reports across the variety of forms on the reporting page.

“We are very busy dealing with a wide variety of issues relating to the web pages which is really good for us.”
