Brake launches new resource for Global Road Safety Week

Brake has launched a new online resource to coincide with UN Global Road Safety Week 2015, which is taking place this week (4-10 May).

Brake’s new ‘Road Safety Week global hub’ is a free online resource providing road safety guidance, tools, resources and case studies for anyone wanting to organise or take part in a Road Safety Week around the world. Its guidance is intended for national governments and NGOs, companies, educators and communities and local agencies.

The hub builds on Brake’s 17 years’ experience coordinating UK Road Safety Week, and shares good practice from other global organisers.

Julie Townsend, deputy chief executive at Brake, said: “We’re calling on governments, organisations and communities to back the #SaveKidsLives campaign and demand or instigate road safety action in their country, region or organisation.

“Anyone organising events as part of Global Road Safety Week can use the information and resources on to get crucial road safety messages out and help save lives.”

The new hub has been developed with support from Fundación MAPFRE, a non-profit institution based in Spain which runs road safety projects in 23 countries for children, young people, adults and senior citizens.
