Building blocks for a safer future

Warwickshire’s road safety team has launched a handbook giving practical road safety advice for parents of children from birth to three years of age.

The Baby Book of Road Safety provides information and raises awareness of issues around in-car safety, pushchair/buggy safety and driveway safety.

Councillor Martin Heatley said: “From the moment you know you are pregnant, the time is right to start thinking about road safety.

“This handbook is one of the first building blocks of road safety that will help parents keep themselves, their baby and other road users as safe as possible on or near the roads.

“Although there is some national road safety guidance available for this stage of development, it is quite difficult and time consuming for parents to find. We wanted to bring everything together in one booklet and make it easily accessible to everyone.”
