A new training DVD gives users of personal mobility vehicles information on how to use their vehicles safely and independently.

The DVD has been produced by Camden Council’s ScootAbility service with support from Transport for London and the DfT. Production of the DVD was overseen by occupational therapists and transport experts and it covers topics including the law, users’ health, negotiating roads, access to public transport, and answers to FAQs.

Councillor Pat Callaghan, Camden Council, said: “This DVD is a really useful resource for those people who use mobility vehicles. Not only does it provide a wealth of information and advice, but it can also help users avoid accidents and injury.”

This seems like a brilliant idea. My friend has a powerchair and when we go or together I worry that if anything went wrong with the chair I wouldn’t know what to do. Hopefully this will help.
