Camera warning devices outlawed in France

People driving from the UK to France are being warned to ensure that they disable the safety camera warning facility on their SatNav system, to avoid risking a fine (ANYVAN.com).

On 4 January a new French law came into effect which says that a vehicle cannot contain a device which warns of the location of a safety camera.

One of the largest SatNav manufacturers, TomTom, which supplies devices throughout the European transport network, has issued guidance on its website about their use in France.
