Car simulator up for sale

Central Bedfordshire Council are selling their car simulator, CAROL.

CAROL is a Ford Focus in which up to four participants can sit in and watch a video. The windows are blacked out and a specially made film is projected on the front windscreen of the car. 

The car’s hydraulic system has been modified to enable the car to move up, down, left and right to simulate a real journey. The sound system, smoke machine and light show all add to the crash-car experience.

There are six films that can be used with the vehicle. 

  • School run – (aimed at younger audience as it’s about children causing in car distractions to driver)
  • Distractions – (passenger causing in car distraction to driver)
  • Vulnerable road users – (identifying that persons outside a vehicle are vulnerable)
  • Drink drive
  • Drug drive
  • Tyre safety (promoting tyre checks when to do them and how tyres can affect your driving)

Central Bedfordshire Council says the car is in a good state of repair with a full-service history and MOT’d until 7 Sep 2024.It has 61,712miles on the clock..
