The winner of this year’s FirstCar and Veygo ‘Win a Car’ prize draw has been named as 26-year-old William Hynam, a chef from Cardiff.

William, who passed his driving test first time in July, was randomly selected from over 90,000 entrants.

The prize draw was promoted in over one million copies of FirstCar magazines during a 12-month period, with more than 1,200 instant winners along the way. But only one person could scoop the star prize, and William was the lucky winner of a brand-new Renault Clio.

The big surprise reveal was made by FirstCar’s TikTok presenter, Keanan Lloyd-Adams, who gave William the surprise of his life. He was joined by Sophia Floyed, Head of Brand and Creative, at Veygo UK, who officially handed over the keys, as captured in the above picture.

William admitted he was “totally thrilled” and was speechless. Once the reality sank in, he described the experience as “unbelievable”, and it was perfect timing, as his current car had started to experience engine issues.

William is going to use the car to help him explore more of Wales’ beautiful countryside and visit his grandparents more frequently.

FirstCar is again giving another lucky learner or new driver the chance to win another Renault Clio, plus 1,434 other instant prizes now up for grabs in the current annual prize draw. Entry is free and now open via the FirstCar website.
