Co-Pilot has introduced a new way for non-members to access a carefully selected range of evidence-based interventions from the Vision Zero Toolbox – available to purchase individually without the need for full membership.
This ‘supermarket model’ is designed to give users the flexibility to pick and choose the interventions that fit their current needs.
All interventions have been developed using behaviour change models and insight from road safety research experts, including Dr Elizabeth Box. Each resource is designed to support road safety teams, local authorities, blue light services, third-sector organisations, campaigners and companies in delivering targeted, research-backed safety initiatives.
The resources available through the supermarket are:
- Highway Code campaign
Featuring Martin Clunes, this campaign helps users to effectively communicate the 2022 Highway Code changes to all road users. The film and supporting materials explain the new hierarchy of road users, helping drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians understand their updated responsibilities, with a clear focus on protecting the most vulnerable. The cost includes your own version with a logo on the end slate. Click here for more info - Social media library
Access a growing library of evidence-based social media posts, designed to help busy comms teams deliver consistent, research-backed road safety messaging on topics including speed, distraction, seatbelts, impairment, and active travel. Click here for more info - Stock photo/video library
Instant access to a curated collection of high-quality road safety images and video clips, all pre-cleared for use in your campaigns, educational materials and online content. Backed by statistically significant evaluation results, ScootSmarter is a ten-minute educational film, split into five chapters, that addresses the legal status, risks and safe use of e-scooters. Delivered with supporting materials for websites, social media and local promotion, ScootSmarter helps the public understand when and where e-scooters can be used, how to ride safely, as well as the real-world consequences of illegal riding. An interactive hazard perception game that helps young drivers sharpen their risk perception skills in a real-life driving context. Players watch authentic driving footage, clicking to identify hazards as they develop. Immediate feedback reinforces learning, and if players miss key hazards, they see the potential consequences, such as a near miss with a motorcyclist or a horse kicking out at a passing vehicle. Includes data capture and reporting tools for local engagement and/or evaluation. Click here for more info - AutoNinja vehicle checks
A monthly vehicle safety checklist with QR-code explainer videos, helping drivers spot and fix small issues before they become safety risks. The checklist uses green and red tick boxes to track checks and highlight issues, with a ‘red tick action list’ prompting follow-up actions like booking repairs. Available in car and van versions, AutoNinja is ideal for direct distribution or delivery via MOT centres and garages — reaching drivers when they are most receptive to vehicle safety messages. With many drivers unaware of or disengaged with their vehicle’s safety features, this intervention provides 18 short explainer videos presented by Rebecca Jackson, demystifying technologies like lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking and blind spot monitoring. Designed for online delivery, car dealerships and service centres, it helps drivers understand and trust their vehicle’s life-saving technology, increasing the chances they will leave it switched on and use it correctly.
