Course provides Introduction to Statistics

08.55 | 8 July 2022 |

The RSGB Academy is piloting a new course which will help participants to develop targeted road safety interventions by improving their ability to correctly analyse and interpret data.

The Introduction to Statistics online course will achieve this by increasing awareness and understanding of:

  • The importance of using an evidence-led approach when developing interventions
  • The use and limitations of the Stat 19/Crash reporting system
  • How to access and interrogate Department of Transport statistical information
  • How to complete a simple analysis of a data field using Excel
  • Common statistical terms and processes
  • Methods of communicating data to the audience and trend identification

The course is suitable for any road safety practitioner who is new to data analysis or who wants to refresh their skills. It should be noted this is an introduction and therefore will not be suitable for people who have advanced skills in this area.

The pilot takes place on 19 September and costs £100 for Road Safety GB Academy members (plus VAT) and £175 for non-members (plus VAT).

It is being held on Zoom and will run from 9am to 4:30pm.
