D.tec International celebrates 30 years supporting safer roads

D.tec International celebrated its 30th anniversary on 31 May 2026, marking three decades at the forefront of drug and alcohol screening, road safety, workplace wellbeing, and operational policing support across the UK.

Founded in 1996, the company has grown into one of the UK’s leading providers of drug and alcohol testing solutions, supporting police operations, public safety campaigns, and hundreds of businesses operating in safety-critical sectors.

Today, D.tec International helps protect more than one million safety-critical workers through partnerships with employers across transport, logistics, warehousing, construction, utilities, manufacturing, passenger transport, and other high-risk industries where safety, compliance, wellbeing, and operational performance are essential.

The milestone follows the successful conclusion of the ClearMinds ClearRoads Conference 2026 and the DrugWipe User Group (DRUG) Conference, held last week.

Together, the events brought employers, policymakers, police, road safety professionals, and industry leaders together to tackle the shared challenges of workforce wellbeing, workplace safety, operational policing, and public protection.

The ClearMinds ClearRoads Conference focused on the growing pressures facing transport and logistics, including driver shortages, skills gaps, rising stress levels, accident reduction, wellbeing, and staff retention. Industry leaders, transport managers, and police explored how investing in workforce wellbeing and safer workplaces can help build a healthier, more resilient industry.

Alongside this, the closed DRUG Conference provided a dedicated operational forum for police forces, Roads Policing Units, senior officers, representatives from the National Police Chiefs’ Council, and Operation Topaz – the NPCC-led initiative tackling road-related harm and wider criminality through proactive, intelligence-led policing.

The conference enabled discussions on operational policing challenges, emerging drug trends, roadside enforcement, evidential processes, and improving consistency and collaboration across policing. The event focused on strengthening enforcement effectiveness and supporting safer roads and communities across the UK.

Commenting on the anniversary, Anita Humphrey, managing director, said: “Marking 30 years in business is a proud milestone for everyone associated with D.tec International. Since 1996, we have worked closely with police forces, employers, policymakers, and safety professionals to help improve road safety, workplace safety, workforce wellbeing, and operational effectiveness across the UK and beyond.

“We are proud to support hundreds of safety-conscious businesses and more than one million safety-critical workers, while continuing to assist police operations and public safety initiatives nationwide.

“It is particularly fitting that our anniversary coincides with the conclusion of the ClearMinds ClearRoads and DRUG conferences, which demonstrated the importance of collaboration between industry, operational policing, policymakers, and safety professionals in tackling the challenges associated with wellbeing, impairment, workplace safety, and safer roads.”

As it enters its fourth decade, D.tec International says it remains committed to supporting safer roads, safer workplaces, improved workforce wellbeing, and continued innovation in operational policing support and public safety technology.
