Pupils in South Yorkshire are being told not to ‘mask the issues’ when it comes to road safety, in a new TIE production called ‘Dummy Run’.

Ryan Simons, managing director of Quickfoot, the company behind the production, said: “South Yorkshire Casualty Reduction Partnership asked us to devise a programme to help reduce pedestrian casualties associated with the move from primary to secondary school, when children begin travelling further and independently for the first time.

Dummy Run uses traditional theatre mask work and Greek Chorus, both of which form part of the national curriculum. It will be performed to more than 10,000 students in 60 schools across Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster.
