Two months into a pilot scheme in Medway, 178 people have been caught on camera not wearing a seatbelt and 24 people caught driving while talking on a phone.

The Kent & Medway Safety Camera Partnership will increase activity in the final few weeks of the scheme. Katherine Barrett, communications officer, said: “The only reason we are doing this is to get people to belt up and switch off.”
