Festival keynote looks at the impact of Covid-19 on road safety

Day 14 of the Festival of Road Safety includes a keynote presentation from Richard Owen, CEO of Agilysis.

Organised by Road Safety GB, the Festival of Road Safety will see more than 40 pre-recorded and live sessions broadcast throughout November (2-27 Nov).

Today at a glance
The second keynote presentation of the week is being published on the Festival website at (10am).

Delivered by Richard Owen, CEO of Agilysis, the presentation will look at how Covid-19 has impacted on road safety, as well as the implications going forward.

The keynote is followed at 2pm by a Fringe double header:

  • Real Time Air Quality Monitoring Linked to Electronic Signage – Olly Samways, Head of Sales and Marketing, Westcotec
  • NTTA: Towing and trailers – tips and hints to improve safety – Sarah Smithurst MBE, business development manager, National Trailer and Towing Association Ltd

Drug driving podcast brings to an end week three
The final day of week three of the Festival of Road Safety includes a podcast on drug driving, featuring Ean Lewin, managing director and founder, d.Tec International.

The special edition of the RSGB Talk podcast – titled ‘Drug driving – the real extent of the problem’ – is co-hosted by Nick Rawlings and Edward Seaman.

D.Tec supplies DrugWipe to every police force in England, Wales and Scotland.

This is followed at 2pm by a Fringe presentation from Dougie Watt, operations director at Carrot Insurance.

Dougie’s presentation is titled ‘Carrot not stick: The role of rewards and nudge theory in improving driver safety’.
